Read along with the INSIDE I cast
We are almost two weeks into the rehearsal process of Inside I (written and directed by Michael Haverty and Erwin Maas), and before rehearsals started the cast and designers began passing around a collection of books to help them all better understand the autistic experience, the research that went into the show, and the science behind understanding an autism diagnosis and the treatments. Below are the books they are reading in case you would like to read along:
- Ido in Autismland by Ido Kedar
- The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism by Naoki Higashida
- The Autistic Brain: Helping Different Kinds of Minds Succeed by Temple Grandin
- Thinking in Pictures, Expanded Edition: My Life with Autism by Temple Grandin
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (revised): The Complete Guide to Understanding Autism by Chantal Sicile-Kira
- How Can I Talk If My Lips Don’t Move?: Inside My Autistic Mind by Tito Rajarshi Mukhopadhyay
- Nobody Nowhere: The Remarkable Autobiography of an Autistic Girl by Donna Williams
