DAUNTED – Senior Capstone works by students in the Department of Dance Performance & Choreography at Spelman College

Daunted explores collective discomfort on stage and in daily life. We the students of Spelman College, under the motto “Undaunted by the Fight,” engaged in creative processes to foster self-healing and tap into ancestral and embodied knowledge in an effort to uncover expectations and assumptions of Black women and Black artists.
With this series of performances, we invite audiences to examine deeply rooted societal norms that place a heavy burden on Black bodies and souls. We look towards liberation in our creative practices and offerings.
